Our Day with Luke

Tuesday Jason & I got to watch our friends' son Luke while his mom worked. His normal babysitter had some sick kids, so Luke got to spend the day with us! We had a GREAT time! He is 2 1/2 and very smart for his age! He is incredibly well behaved and very polite too.

He came to our place at 8am and quickly settled in and got started listening to music. He loves to listen to music and enjoyed listening to our iTunes on our computer. He was frustrated at one point because "Jason can't find my favorite" and Jason tried to explain to him that our iTunes and his iTunes had different music. He and Jason had a great time listening to some songs from Wicked and looking at pictures.

Luke loves anything with buttons, and since we don't have iPhones, the next best thing was my camera. Luke quickly figured out how to flip through pictures and how to take some pictures too. Here are a few more pictures of Jason and Luke hanging out.

Luke was supposed to make a "funny face" too! =)

After playing on the computer and camera for a bit, Luke wanted to check out the baby's room and gave his approval to our new pack-n-play. He then discovered our CD player in our room. We had 6 different CDs that he would keep changing and listening to. We were very impressed at how quickly he would figure out what song(s) he liked and could remember the track number and flip between the various CDs. He mastered how to play, pause, and flip between tracks. Our player has a few seconds delay before it starts to play, and we told Luke it was "thinking." He really enjoyed it! I had to "tear" him away so that we could go to the grocery store to buy some ingredients to make cupcakes! Luke picked chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. He was an excellent helper in the kitchen!

After the cupcakes had finished baking we headed back to Luke's house. We had to say goodbye to Jason so that he could get to school. Luke enjoyed his grilled cheese lunch and helped me frost some cupcakes and then split one with me!! I think he really enjoyed it =)

We had a wonderful time with Luke, and it makes us very anxious to meet our son!
