Some fun things that Hudson has started doing this month or big memorable events:
- Hudson had his 15 month check up early in the month. He was a bit traumatized by having his ears checked and having to get 2 shots. He also had a blood draw (from his elbow) to check for lead and iron levels. But the good news was that he is now 27.5 lbs and 33.25 inches! That puts him in the 94th percentile for height and 83rd percentile for weight.
- He loves playing with his foam letters and numbers in the bath tub. If they get wet they stick on the sides. He also has a cardboard puzzle with numbers and he has started trying to put those numbers up on the wall downstairs! He can't understand why they don't work like in the bathtub!
- Hudson has started walking! Last week one day it was like he just decided that walking was the thing to do and pretty much since then he has preferred to walk rather than crawl.
- We have a gate in the doorway between our main area downstairs and the kitchen. Hudson has taken to closing the gate if we forget it! He will even close the gate when we ask.
- Hudson and I ususally watch some of the Today show in the mornings and check out the weather. The weatherman, Bob, is one of Hudson's favorites. He now knows when Bob is coming on next and will point and get really excited. He says, "Bob, Bob, Bob." Watch the video below to see for yourself!
- Since he's started to walk by himself, Hudson has taken several tough falls. One was while he was strapped into his high chair. I had taken off his tray to clean him up and was less than 2 feet from him. But he leaned forward too much and brought the high chair and regular chair it is strapped to to the ground. He landed on his head and started screaming right away. Thankfully he made it out of the situation with no more than a good bump on his head and a slightly swollen upper lip. Since the incident we have him using his shoulder straps again to keep him from leaning forward. Hudson also fell and hit his head at my OB appointment on Monday. It was quite a dramatic way to begin that visit!
- One of the most adorable things Hudson has begun to do is to ask to pray. He started by patting his hand on his chest when we were about to pray. We quickly figured out that he wanted to pray! He does it at the normal times we pray with (eating and going to bed). He will usually ask to pray 4-5 times every meal! One of the cute times he asked to pray was when we were in Sam's and I told him we needed to wait to pay for our food. He promptly pointed to his chest and asked to pray! ;-)
