They arrived on Friday night just in time for dinner at Moe's (I'd been wanting to go here for dinner for a while). We then ventured to IKEA and looked through their showroom and ended up coming home with a dresser for me (planned) and a new computer chair for our house (unplanned, but needed). Mom and Dad enjoyed seeing the store and were able to fit the big boxes into their car.
Saturday morning we started off with breakfast and then got right to work. Mom painted the fronts of the dresser drawers that I had been using, but that we will now use in the baby's room. Here's a picture of mom hard at work!
The finished product looks great! Dad worked on putting the crib together. We are so thankful to be able to use a crib given to us by our good friends James and Kristin! Thank you SO much! Here's Dad working on the crib.
The baby's room is starting to take shape now. I'll hold off on pictures until it has a few more things in it, but stay tuned for updates.
Jason & I also were singing in our church's Christmas program 4 times during the weekend. We had to be at church at 1pm on Saturday, and left mom and dad hard at work. By the time we came home for dinner just before 5pm they had finished the painting and put together my new dresser! It looks great. It really helps to finish off our room and make it look more put together.
Mom and Dad were able to join us for the Saturday evening performance of the concert, and really enjoyed it. Sunday morning we finished a few odd jobs (Dad put in a new digital thermostat for us) and headed off for our 3rd performance. After that we enjoyed lunch at Katz's Restaurant--we all enjoyed the great food. Mom and Dad had to leave to head home, and thankfully despite the rainy/snowy weather made it home safely.
Jason & I finished our last performance Sunday evening and then "crashed"! =) It was a great whirlwind of a weekend.
