Long over due catch up!

I am very behind in my posting! We have had a great summer and are sad to see it winding down to a close. In just a few weeks Jason will be back at school and fall will be in full swing. That of course means cooler temperatures (yay!), leaves changing colors, and the fact that the twins will be coming SOON! Before that happens I wanted to make sure that the blog is updated so that those of you who follow me, will know what's happened this summer and how we are doing!

We had a wonderful visit with Aunt Heidi and enjoyed time with her. While she was here we celebrated Hudson's friend Ella's birthday at a water park and of course watched the Sound of Music.

Soon after Heidi left we headed out on our big summer vacation. Our first stop was Rochester, NY to visit my family and our friends. We spend a week with them and really enjoyed seeing Hudson interact with his family for an extended period of time.
We were able to sell our Honda and get a minivan from my grandparents! This was a huge answer to prayer, both that we could sell our car and that we were able to get this van. It is a wonderful car, and so much easier to transport Hudson around in. It really saves me having to crawl into the back seat to buckle up Hudson and Hudson enjoys the new view! We are very thankful for my grandparents and Dad putting so much time and work into the van to get it ready for us. It will be wonderful to have the space, especially when our twins arrive.

Grammy, Hudson & I went strawberry picking! Hudson wasn't too fond of the strawberries, but enjoyed the experience.

After a wonderful week in Rochester we headed down to Harrisburg, PA to spend time with Jason's family and friends. We had a great time visiting there! Unfortunately on our way down to PA we did encounter a problem with our van...thankful with AAA and a nice mechanic we were able to get back on the road with only minimal delays.
Waiting for the van to be fixed

Our week went by so quickly, but was filled with lots of fun times with family and friends. Hudson learned a lot that week about obeying....he seemed to really begin to respond! Jason and I enjoyed being able to make it to Kate and Greg's wedding the day before we left! It was fun to catch up with old friends during the wedding and reception.

On July 3rd, we headed out bright and early to drive down to Myrtle Beach, SC for a family reunion on my mom's side. Despite the 10+ hour drive, we arrived in one piece and started our last leg of our journey. Hudson loved meeting all his cousins and aunts and uncles, and enjoyed the extra attention. He also LOVED the ocean and beach! He enjoyed spending lots of time there with Grammy and his aunties.

On the way to the beach with Mommy!

Checking out the sand...he got more and more brave as the week went on.

We had a great vacation, loved seeing all of our friends and family, but were also glad to be home! We all held up well during the travels, and I loved the extra help with Hudson. This was our last big trip before the twins come!

  1. Wow, Kim! What a wonderful summer you have had =)! It looks like you got to see so much of your families - does Hudson have SIX great-grandparents? I don't think that happens every day! =)! We are praying for all of you and can't wait to hear the good news in the fall!
