Hudson Turns 2!

On March 2nd our Hudson turned 2 years old!
Waiting for his friends to come for his party. (Notice the socks!)

He's definitely a "ham"!

He is an energetic boy with lots to talk about! One of the words he surprised us with recently is "actually" as in "Actually, it's Mommy's turn to pray." He has an excellent memory and continues to amaze us with all that he can memorize. It doesn't take much work to have him learn a song or something visual. He is learning more and more about God. It is wonderful to hear him pray and what he thanks God for--lately he's very thankful for his crayons! Hudson has opinions about almost everything and certainly let's us know it. Here are some "snapshots" of things that he likes.

He loves to sing--
He knows lots of different songs, but his current favorite is the "Treasure" Song (aka My Portion Forever) that Jason sang at my sister Allison's wedding. He has most of the lyrics memorized and loves to sing it with us at bed time.

He loves stickers--
Hudson has a great love for putting stickers on paper or in sticker books. He likes to peel them off himself now and stick them on. One thing he doesn't quite get is that once they on the paper that they should stay there....

He loves maps--
I wasn't sure he was ready for them yet, but Jason wanted to get Hudson a states map and a world map. Hudson loves them! He has memorized many different countries and states.

He loves argyle--
So much so that we made argyle cupcakes for his birthday! He would wear it everyday if he could and wants Daddy to as well! =)

He loves Parker and Olivia--
Hudson is a great big brother. While he can be too excited around them sometimes, Hudson loves to snuggle, kiss and sing or read to his brother and sister. Parker and Olivia love him as well and will giggle and smile for him. Hudson does seem slightly partial to Olivia and she will laugh for Hudson like none other (with the exception of Daddy).

He loves to play with his computer--
We are very glad we got him his little play laptop for Christmas. There are letter and number games that he likes to play, and has learned a word for almost every letter! He's working now on counting various shapes. It is also nice to tell him to go play on his computer when I need to get on mine. He still loves to watch facebook videos of himself and his aunts.

He loves to watch movies--
Although he still likes The Sound of Music, Hudson has really branched out in the movie department. Currently his movie repertoire includes: The King & I, The Music Man, Meet Me in St. Louis,  Construction/working videos ("Road" George, "House" George, "Trash" George, Fire & Rescue, Cleared for Takeoff), The Letter Factory, Thomas the Tank Engine videos and a new addition is 7 Brides for 7 Brothers.

He loves to build and climb--
Hudson really likes to build bridges and tunnels with blocks. He likes to see how high he can build a tower and loves it when they are as tall as him. A relatively new thing is that Hudson loves to climb on things or people! He likes to balance himself and climb up. This is a very helpful skill at playgrounds and will make it lots more fun to play on them himself this spring and summer.
